What is Hackatron ?



Hackatron is a 24 hours Hackathon and is attempt made by the Hackathon and Coding Club (HnCC), BIT Sindri to bring out the developer hidden inside a student, by providing a platform to showcase the skills and stand out of the crowd. We believe that given proper resources, anything is possible. The raison d'être of Hackatron is to introduce students to the open-source community and its benefits. In Hackatron, participants are encouraged to come up with novel solutions to brainstorming problems and collaborate to design unique solutions to some real-world problems. We believe that people with passion can change the world for the better and that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who actually do. So, it is a call for all the geeks out there, come, be a part of this event and make a dent in this universe. All you have to do is to DESIGN, DEBUG and DEPLOY.

Slothy, the Hacker



Meet Slothy. He is a hacker. He is lazy. Oh, Wait! Don't think of him as some ordinary sloth. He learns technical stuff by hacking i.e exploring and learning on the go.
He doesn't lose his confidence whenever any problem arrives. All he does is to hack to get to the problem. Be like Slothy.
He will help you throughout the hackatron, in case you stumble upon any problem. Ask Slothy anything without any hesitance.

Registration and Idea Submission Period

10th November
Teams for grand finale announced

Teams will be notified by email / website and will have to confirm the presence , the details will be mentioned in the email.

12th November
Confirmation by shortlisted teams for grand finale

Shortlisted teams need to confirm their participation in the grand finale through email.

Final list of teams will be released on November 13th, 2019.

Hacking Starts

Hackathon Starts with an inaugration ceremony from 10:00 AM .

17th November: 12:00 AM
Fun Activities

A cultural performance for recreation.

Hackathon Ends

Hackers are judged and this hackathon ends with prize ceremony.

Team can consist of minimum 2 members and a maximum of 4 members.
This hackathon will go on a roller coaster ride of 24 hours. You will enjoy it with hacking and snacking sessions.
It is a software and software - hardware mixed hackathon. All the submissions must be in the form of Web Applications or mobile applications etc. or any GUI based application.Or can be microcontroller based system.
Any student pursuing any course can come and enhance their development journey . The team members can be from different Academic Levels (Years/Programme).

Fooding and lodging is completely on us.
Dhanbad Railway Station is connected to the major Railway Stations across the country. After that local train/auto can be accessed to arrive at Sindri.
